We hit the ground running in 2024 with quite a few large, medium, and small releases. The team is taking a much-deserved break in February to meet up in person and plan for our next round of updates. So, what were we up to?
Larges
Custom Properties
You can now customize OpsLevel with the service information that matters most to your team.
Set Custom Properties to unblock your team with a catalog that surfaces the information they reference most. Instead of using tags to catalog anything beyond the core components of a service entry, you can now set your own attributes in the Setting panel, making it easy to:
- Consistently display important service information for your organization
- Leverage service metadata checks to roll out these fields across your catalog
- Filter by and report on these new properties

GitHub Teams updates
Ensure your teams in OpsLevel are accurate with automated team data synchronization from GitHub.
If your organization uses GitHub to manage teams and hierarchy, you can use our GitHub Teams Sync to manage your teams and users in OpsLevel. This helps to keep your catalog up-to-date and accurate.

Okta updates
We now have a bidirectional sync with Okta so that admins can push Groups to OpsLevel from Okta and Teams to Okta from OpsLevel. This update allows admins to keep team makeup consistent and up to date.

Historical reporting
You can now track service health improvements and check adoption over time, to easily see where your team is making progress and where they’re getting stuck.
Understanding the current state of your team’s service maturity is one thing—but without historical context, it doesn’t tell the whole story. You can now view two specific reports over a 1-month, 3-month, or 1-year timeline:
- Service health: See how a service level has changed over time (view docs)
- Check adoption: See how many services are passing (or not) a given check over time (view docs)
This historical view helps you understand where your teams have progressed on maturity goals and where they’re getting stuck.

Scheduled Slack and email reminders for Campaigns
Campaigns are a very useful tool for driving initiatives across your organization. But without a way to remind the people about them, it can be difficult to achieve a high completion rate. Until this month, we allowed for ad-hoc reminders to be sent to owners via Slack and email. With our latest update, we also allow Campaign owners to schedule recurring reminders until tasks have been completed.

Customizable Dashboards
Make your team and org-wide priorities clear with a dashboard that showcases the most important efforts front and center. Now you can customize what you see on your dashboard.
